This was so dull that I got to the halfway point (with difficulty) and had to give up. All of the characters, especially the hero, are carrying around so much baggage that I don't see how they can get up in the morning. I got to the point where I did not care if all of the characters in the story dropped dead and that is when I put the book down for good.

Excellent book
For me, Robert Wilson's books succeed in all ways. He weaves an intriguing and many-layered story, his characters are well-developed and believable, his dialogue excellent and the writing itself is descriptive and flowing and lyrical without being pompous or calling attention to itself. As each layer is peeled back, the story becomes more compelling.
