I bought this for a graduate class, but it is also a great resource for those who are teaching and have already completed their studies. This book helps the reader understand curriculum and leads through the process of designing curriculum units.

effective Teaching Methods: Research Based Practic
read this book. chapters are in a different order in the newer edition, but it is pretty much the same content. do not buy the new one, unless you need the cd that goes with it.
i recommend using this book if you just want to gain knowledge out of it without spending big bucks.
I GOT AN A GRADE for the class after using an "older" version of the book.

Great book!
This book gives helpful tips to the prospective teacher and 1st year teacher that covers everything a new teacher would need to know. It gives suggestions about classroom management, lesson planning, teaching strategies, working with students who are learning English or have exceptionalities. It is overall a good comprehensive book and an excellent resource.
