This book provides a nice starting point and reference for understanding the complex role of microorganisms in the environment. As my interest is on aquatic ecosystems, I read only the chapters bearing some relation to this. Interesting interpretations of the natural phenomena are presented, which opens the mind of a student for his own version of the phenomenon that he/she studies.
