Back came the Hun, showering incendiaries, but the workers were too busy to notice them at the time. Four men were killed and a dozen injured, but without the superhuman effort which seemed to come naturally to everybody at the time, some 50 or 60 would have died in the burning camp. And the ATS kept making tea.
