With this deeply influential book, which is now internationally recognised as a classic study of childhood and its social significance, Professor Erikson has made an outstanding contribution to the study of human behaviour. Drawing on psychoanalytical theory and his own clinical experience, he devotes the main chapters to anxiety in young children, apathy in American Indians, confusion in veterans of war, and arrogance in young Nazis.

Figuratively, page by page, I consumed this volume many years ago, among many others by this Author and it 'nourished' my mind and life over these many years since. This man is GENIUS and his knowledge and wisdom and incisive insights into human emotional development, each and all, are literally, PRICELESS.
It is impossible to recommend this book more highly than urge that it remain close-at-hand for frequent reading and reference. I loaned my 'well-worn' original copies to so many that they quite understandably were not returned. My library remained incomplete without it available for me to 'grab' when needed. This is the 3rd copy I have bought and one which will NOT LEAVE my POSSESSION!
