This is the first of Michael Crichton?s books that I?ve read, and I loved it! Any fan of pirates will and must read this good, fast-paced, high energy and full of myth coming true, Caribbean adventure.
Captain Hunter, sponsored by the Governor Almont, is going to pirate the El Trinidad from the impenetrable Spanish fortress of Matanceros. The Cassandra is crewed by few, but curiousingly enough members. Hunter is forced to steal from under the greatly feared Cazalla, escape the chase of Spanish pirates, and manage to return to Port Royal with his neck and treasure in one piece.
The ending of this heroic tale was not what I was expecting but overall, I will look forward to reading this book again and again.
