This book is amazing. I highly recommend it. Many secrets are revealed. It will literally keep you guessing until the very last page. There is the mix of excitement and tender moments that we have come to expect from L.J. Smith. No matter which pairing you prefer Elena/Stefan, Elena/Damon, or Damon/Bonnie, there will be something for you. Other characters such as Meredith and Matt also get their fair share of time in the spotlight. There is not much else I can say without spoiling the adventure. In my opinion, this is L.J. Smith?s best book, yet.
There is going to be a new arc of Vampire Diaries called The Hunters. The first book in the series is called Phantom. However, they will not be the same quality of books we are used to because they will be written by a ghostwriter.
L.J. Smith will not be allowed to write anymore Vampire Diaries. It was taken from her and given to a ghostwriter. She has fought long and hard to prevent/reverse this decision, but Alloy (the book packaging company) will not budge. This was allowed to happen because of a ?work for hire? clause in the original contract she signed in the ?90s when she really didn?t understand what it meant. Midnight was written fully by L.J. Smith, and when she wrote it she thought she would be continuing the series. The next book, Phantom, was written by L.J. Smith, but the publishers told the ghostwriter to rewrite it. However, it will still say ?Created by? L.J. Smith. I won?t be buying it because a) I don?t think it will be any good and b) I think it was very underhanded move by Alloy to do what they did. I?ve also emailed Alloy and plan to send a snail mail letter. Of course, everyone is free to decide for themselves what they will read. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew the facts.
