Our St. Francisville, LA Birdman Book Club just discussed "City of Refuge". We were unanimous in highly praising Piazza's work. All of us had lived through Katrina and many read the book with tears and new anxiety. Of special focus was the way the author both led us through familiar N.O. scenes but, moreso, led us deeply into the inner landscape of the main characters. Most resonated with SJ but Craig's journey was notable. Many are going back now to "Why New Orleans Matters". Tom will be an author we will definitely follow. No matter if you are a native Louisianian or live far away "City of Refuge" is a must read!
