This is Joe Hill's debut novel from 2007.
Simply put, it's one of the best ghost stories I've ever read.

Unique, terrifying
With a quick-paced plot and sympathetic characters, this is a ghost story for today's reader, about a burned out rock musician and the groupie who loves him...and a very angry ghost from his past.
I loved it, and couldn't put it down.

Best horror novel I read since Pet Sematary!!
I enjoy reading a good horror novel from time to time and rarely come across one that sets such scary images. My imagination still holds images that will force me to sleep with the lights on. Hill writes a great novel. This book won the 2007 Bram Stoker Award for best horror novel. It truly deserved the award; the author had me jumping at shadows from chapter 1 and on the run with Jude (Judas) to the very end. Hill also did a wonderful job of combining the mystery of Craddock?s past with the horror of Jude running for his life. This book would make a great movie!! It?s fast-pasted and contains some great shock value. I can?t write much more about the plot without giving away some of the twist and surprises. I will keep this review short. It?s a great book and worth every bit of 5 out of 5 stars. I hope Joe Hill can keep this quality of story up for future full-length novels. If so he lands right next to my favorite reads like Stephen King, Clive Barker, and Dean Koontz.
