This book is not for the spiritually squeamish. Although written over 40 years ago (1966) it could have been written yesterday judging by the issues that Trueblood deems fit to address. His aim is true when assailing the all too comfortable, lazy and self-centered nature of many of today's professing Christians and Christian congregations. He presents TRUE Christianity as vibrant, obedient (to its King), positively militant and reaching out to a doomed world that desperately needs a Savior. EVERYONE in the Church should be a player, and anything short of that is absolutely unacceptable. The Church should burn (i.e. the "incendiary" of the title) with a passion to reach lost souls for Jesus Christ, and any other agenda or program it adopts is contrary to its primary mission. If you want real "purpose driven", this is it - not the heretical nonsense being force fed to believers today.
