C.S. Lewis is a master of description and explanation. In this opening book of series of 3 he retells the Biblical story of the creation. It is complete with entities that are pure malice and those who know the power of love. In this book the Ramson the main character is forced to travel travel to the planet we know as Venus, There he discovers "pre-earth" beings and the power of creation.

Brilliant Lewis!
Lewis's Space Trilogy is a brilliant work, richly imaginative, a gripping story with deep themes. I rank it with Lord of the Rings as a must-read.
