Good & Informative & Good Value
This is my third JR book. They are all written that makes them easy tpo read, yet highly informative .
He, to say the least, does not mince his words/opinions and many of the places he describes on the great river are not places that sound to be worth a visit, indeed some quite the opposite.
Having said that, liberal use off Google Pictures expands on the images his writings create and Google searches reveal some regenarative work in cities such as St Louis that have occurred (thankfully) since he wrote the book back in the late 1970's. However, I suspect that many of the places may not have changed for the better.
