A family's move to Corfu, and their hilarious meetings with the local people, birds and beasts will keep your students reading and laughing. This is a magical autobiography that encapsulates pre-war Corfu in all its natural splendour, and the author's account of the time he spent on the island as a child observing the people, birds and beasts. This is a very funny book about a kooky English family who moves to Greece written from the point of view of the youngest brother , a ten-year old who collects insects , birds and reptiles much to the chagrin of the rest of the family.

Dangerous! Will Give Laugh LInes
This is the best non-fiction book I have read in a while. Hilarious! Gerald Durrell tells the story of his life with his mother and siblings, moving out of England into Greece, his love for nature and animals. He is truly gifted in his observation of people and his sense of humour.
