Seller's Description:
Fine in Fine jacket. In a clear protective Brodart mylar cover. Unread. This gripping eco-thriller pits the radical environmentalists against corporate interests but even the slightest disruption can have devastating effects...
As a veteran of 3 Antarctic science seasons as a "Herc" pilot for the U.S. Navy, I was astounded by the author's exceptional knowledge of the Antarctic continent..."The Ice". The precision of his topographical descriptions, McMurdo and South Pole Station layouts, "ice" lingo and the general psychological and sociological interactions between the "carharts" and "beekers" is incredible. The slightly futuristic setting of the story, the interesting characters and the weaving of actual early antarctic expeditions within the plot create an adventure well worth reading for anyone, especially those fascinated by the Frozen Continent. For Mr. Robinson....well done. ( It was actually a total of 17 years between XD-04's crash, recovery and flight back north. I flew it when it came back down for operations!)
