Seller's Description:
Fine in Fine jacket. 8vo., 250pp. Beautiful First British Edition. Bound in black cloth with titles in silver on spine Square, tight and clean throughout with little or no wear. Perhaps a hint of bumping to the spine ends but barley. Page edges mildly toned as is common. Equally attractive unclipped dust-jacket, (£8.95 on a publisher's sticker on the bottom of the front flap), is fresh and bright with no chipping, creases, toning or tears. Signed and inscribed by Blatty on the title page to legendary jazz clarinetist, Artie Shaw (1910-2004), "For both Artie Shaw---With admiration and great fondness for two extraordinary human beings-and the hope that the writer of the duo's next--present? --work will see sales that are...(Legion). William Peter Blatty". In the inscription, Blatty is referring to both Artie Shaw the musician, and Artie Shaw the author, having written musical instructional books as well as fiction and his well-received autobiography. Blatty's son Michael, contacted this bookseller with the explanation of an otherwise mysterious sentiment. Also included is a hand-written letter to Shaw, on Blatty's letterhead, "Artie-A care package to help you through this (Epstien-Barr Syndrome? ). Hope they don't put you in deeper sleep. "Legion" is the deep one and maybe the best. "I'll Tell Them" is about my mother; and "Goldfarb" is off the wall. Enjoy! And feel better soon. *Fondly, Bill. *Based on what I know of you now from Cinderella.". This last line refers to Shaw's autobiography, "The Trouble With Cinderella: An Outline of Identity". A gorgeous collectable copy and a great association.

Yeah, I really wanted to like this because the book, 'The Exorcist' was dang good. This does not follow in the same footsteps. I then watched the movie, and that was even worse. I found it hard to follow and read and was definitely disappointed in it. Pass on it, there's nothing new to learn here.
