Seller's Description:
Fine in fine dust jacket. (RAUSCHENBERG, ROBERT). Hopps, Walter. ROBERT RAUSCHENBERG: THE EARLY 1950's. Houston, TX: The Menil Collection & Houston Fine Art Press, 1991. First Edition. Oblong 4to. Cloth in Dust Jacket. Artist Monograph. Fine/Fine. 240pp, 143 b&w and 70 color illustrations. This exquisite book was published as the hardbound catalogue for the 1991 Walter Hopps curated "Robert Rauschenberg: The Early 1950s" held at The Menil Collection-one of the great Museum retrospectives of the past two decades. A show incredible for its scope and execution, the focus was Robert Rauschenberg's earliest mature work, executed between 1951 and 1954, that at once embraced and mutated the prevailing trend of Abstract Expressionism. A brand new, most handsome example. 0-939594-25-0 Inventory Number: 026649.
