Book Oblong folio, hardcover, gift note to "mom" on endpaper else near fine in near fine white and blue pictorial dj. well-preserved; tight, bright, clean. 157 pp. These color aerial photographs of Hawaii, called by Mark Twain "the most beautiful fleet of islands ever placed in any ocean" were taken over a period of two years ending in the summer of 1977. There are some historical photographs included here and a selected few from high altitudes made by the U-2 Observation Plane, but the great majority were made from helicopters at heights used by birds.
