Seller's Description:
Fine. Not Issued with a Dust Jacket. 4to-over 9¾"-12" tall. 456 pages, illustrated. "This book has gone through three drafts. The first prelimary draft was completed in May 1963 and was sent to the U.S. Navy for security clearance. After clearance and making some corrections based upon recommendations by Bureaus of Ships personnel, the first edition was issued in Nov. 1963 as an Autonetics Division of North American Aviation Inc. report. These copies were rapidly depleted. A few minor corrections were made, an index added, and it was reprinted in early 1964. Requests for the report were so many that copies were again rapdily exhausted. Western Periodicals undertook the task of repingint the final revised edition in its present format in mid-1966. Several people sugguested that the title be changed from "The Case For The Deep Submersible" to The Deep Sybmersible." This was an excellent suggestion and this change has been made. The section devoted to describing existing and planned vehicles has been thoroughly revised, incorporating the latest information on vehicles built or under design since 1963. The section of the status of Russian deep submergence was revised." FINE HARDCOVER.
