An introduction to the unique private collection of Charles Lang Freer housed in the Smithsonian since 1923. His own particular vision was based on 'maintaining a subtle harmony between works by a select number of American artists, and a representative collection of Asian antiquities'. Paintings, ceramics, sculptures and other masterpieces from the Gallery's holdings are featured and illustrated in 200 illustrations, including 125 plates in full colour. This is a square book, 10"x9", and weighing over one and a half kilos; it will need extra postage outside the UK.
