Seller's Description:
Very good in very good dust jacket. The Secret Life of Plants by Peter Tompkins and Christopher Bird. Hardcover First Edition (1973), bound in light natural/beige cloth with copper-colored print on the front cover and spine. This copy is in Very Good (VG) condition with a Very Good (VG) dust jacket that retains its original glossy shine, and the price is intact on the upper corner of the front insert. The covers are well-preserved with square corners, though the upper edge of the rear cover is bumped about 2 inches from the spine. The spine caps are slightly indented, and there is light foxing to the upper edges of the covers. The binding cloth is slightly gapped at the head of the spine, a typical result of proper vertical shelf storage. Despite this, the binding remains firm, with unbroken hinges. The interior pages are clean, bright, and unmarked. The dust jacket shows a hint of shelf wear but no tears, with a light crease at the bottom corner of the front insert. This seminal work explores the intriguing concept of plant intelligence and their potential connection with humans. The authors present a blend of scientific research and anecdotal accounts, examining how plants may perceive, feel, and react to human emotions and intentions. Topics include unconventional experiments on plant consciousness, the impact of music on growth, and the profound bond between plants and humans. A fascinating read for anyone intrigued by the mysteries of nature and the interconnectivity of life. The book will be carefully packaged for shipment, boxed with bubble wrap for added protection against the elements. A USPS electronic tracking number will be provided free of charge. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or for additional pictures of the book. 402 pages.
