Stephen Greymorning is an Associate Professor in the departments of Anthropology and Native American Studies at the University of Montana. Stephen Greymorning is an Associate Professor in the departments of Anthropology and Native American Studies at the University of Montana. He received his PhD in Political Anthropology from the University of Oklahoma in 1992. His dissertation topic, Indigenous North Americans and the Ethnocentrism of the Courts... focused on a cross analysis of several United States and Canadian Supreme Court cases that were responsible for changing the political status of Indians in North America. From 1988 to 1992 he taught courses on Linguistics, Comparative Indian Legislation, and Aboriginal Self-Government at the University of Alberta in Canada. From July to November 1997, he was a Visiting Professor at Southern Cross University in Australia where he taught a course on Colonization and the Ethnopolitics of Indigenous Peoples. During the academic year 2001-2002, he served as the Acting Director of the Indigenous Governance Program at the University of Victoria. See less
