Stephen Curtis was born in Hertford, England, and educated at Cheshunt Grammar School, The Queen's College, Oxford, and the University of York. Hehas degrees in modern languages and English and has worked as an English lecturer, a milkman, a call-center worker, a translator, a lexicographer, an editor and proofreader, and a writer of innovative English-language teaching books for Singapore and beyond.
