Libby Purves
Libby Purves is a radio presenter, journalist and author. Joining the BBC as a radio presenter in 1971, by 1976 she joined BBC 4's Today programme, becoming the show's first female reporter. She went on to have a regular column in The Times, and also served as The Times' drama critic. She has written over twenty books, including twelve novels. All of these remarkable achievements earned her an OBE for services to journalism in 1999.
