There are 51 booklets in the "Understanding the Atom Series" series published by the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission. The booklets can be grouped into the categories of physics, chemistry, biology, nuclear reactors, the environment, and general interest. Nine of the booklets were available in French and 15 were available in Spanish. Dr. Lengemann was on the faculty of the New York State Veterinary College and formerly was a biochemist with the Atomic Energy Commission. Dr. Woodburn was formerly on the faculty of Michigan State University, Illinois State University, ant Johns Hopkins University. He was the author of the noted book, Radioisotopes which was published by Lippincott in 1962.
