Excerpt from Three Chapters on a Triple Project: The Canal and the Rail One of the most important branches of the subject, relative to the proposed connexion between the waters of the St. Law rence and the waters of Lake Champlain, is the trade of the Ottawa and the new outlet, and as yet unknown markets which the construction of this canal must open up to that trade.
