I bought this book because I wanted to get in shape and I wanted to do it without lifting weights in the gym every day, and thus far it has proven itself to be a very good book for people that is in the beginner stage of working out and starting on the journey of a healthier lifestyle.
The book is divided into 3 main chapters:
Recruit training, where you get to follow the physical training the recruits go through in boot camp and take a close look on the Circuit Course, Recruit obstacle course and Combat water survival training.
Officer training. You will now learn the difference between the officer and recruit training and the different objectives with the training. Will also take a closer look at the stamina and confidence course.
Last but no least: Work out like the Marines. You will now get a close up look at the daily 16, illustrated by big black & white photos with detailed description on how to correctly perform every exercise in the warm-up, stretching and exercise part.
You will also learn how to build your own circuit course and get some good workout guidelines. There are also 3 fitness plans made by the US Marine Corps that where originally designed for people in the delayed entry program: Four week fitness plan, 6 month beginner's workout and 6 month maintenance workout.
You will also get an introduction to nutrition and fitness.
