I can't believe I just discovered this treasure. As a cookbook, it's maddening. It's really an extended meditation on the wonders of creation and incarnation by someone in love with the world and with cooking.

deep delight
The Supper of the Lamb is part cookbook, part poetry, part contemplation, well-spiced with humor and personal experience. Fr. Capon comments on everything from the marvels of the onion to the necessity of buying the best knife you can afford to the reasons for having a dinner party rather than a cocktail party. Through it all, he celebrates a world created with all sorts of colors, flavors and shapes which are "unnecessary" but very much to be loved.
