It pays more attention to the English style and readability than many more literal versions, yet without sacrificing too much in the way of accuracy. This edition is not meant for detailed verse study... there are no references or study notes. But if you like to just read large chunks of the Bible, you will love reading the REB. I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Superb study Bible
Revision of the this wonderfully readable translation (NEB--New English Bible). Have taught the Bible for over 40 years, and this is my preferred translation for reading pleasure and study. I use many others but start with the NEB.
