This is my first year teaching Ancient History. My students are seventh grade city kids, a tough audience. To introduce Mesopotamia and written history, I bought this gorgeous trilogy of books (Gilgamesh the King, Ishtar's Revenge and The Last Quest of Gilgamesh) and simply read each one aloud, showing pictures as I read.
