I first found this book in my hometown's public library when I was in junior high. It was so good that I re-read it immediately after finishing...with time to spare until I had to return it. I recently bought this book because I knew I would want to read it again and again.
This is a book that you can read and re-read and still be entranced by it, a rare quality in many books today. Dunkle does an excellent job of building the goblin's unique culture and making the reader fall in love with them. She had me rooting for the heroine throughout the book, rather than be annoyed by her, as can sometimes happen with any book. The story never loses pace throughout, as Dunkle creates one piece of suspense after another, right up until the end.
