This is an incredible novel which I first read at age 10 and then again when I finished college. Two of my friends who are distinguished Egyptologists later told me the novel was quite accurate. Waltari based the book roughly on an ancient Egyptian story. Hollywood made the book into one of their "Sandals and Sand" movies of the 1950s starring Edmund Purdum. The book is excellent and should be read by anyone with a sincere interest in Ancient Egypt.

Read it 3 times over 50 years
I read this when I was overseas in the Army
Read it again when I was in College and Read it again in 2011. Then donated a copy to the Library at the local school. As you can guess by now I really liked the book.
