Produced by veteran Rupert Hine (Rush, Peter Gabriel), Start contains several tracks that could very well become hits on VH1 due to their laidback musical style and friendly, sing-along choruses (for example, the title track). There is a pleasant, spacious quality to many of the tracks as well ("Something Deeper"), while "Phenomenon of Flight" sounds like a cross between the Dave Matthews Band and the Wallflowers (two AAA/VH1 favorites). And like those two bands, Thanks to Gravity want to first build up a solid, steady following through relentless touring and word of mouth, rather than hit it big on their first try and become a one-hit wonder.
