The research presented in this book took place at a local university in Acapulco, Guerrero, where students are provided with a wide range of English Language courses, from elementary to upper intermediate. The whole research process was based on the globalized perspective that more student-centered approaches can be beneficial to the learning process with the incorporation of new scientific and technological resources into the educational field, and particularly, the use of smartphones as didactic support. The information collected provided enough evidence to assert that the teachers, who originally expressed opinions against the use of smartphones in their classes, changed their perception in favor of this technological device. The results obtained also support the idea that teachers must respond to the social demands of bridging generation gaps by mixing the existing models with the newest resources. And finally that a teacher training course aimed to develop technological skills is an effective means in the path to updating in educational strategies focused on real-world context, where the students are challenged to solve problems through collaborative activities.
