I truly enjoyed the journey of the Nearings so elegantly related in this book. Their inspiration to go green before the word was even coined is sorely needed by those who really want to live a simple life. They set force clear guidelines to live by with ample room for putting your own stamp on how you want to use the info they provide. I highly recommend this book to anyone considering going green. Though this is only a cookbook, it gives you ideas on what to do with all the organic food you plan to grow. This review is for this and their original book about their life homesteading. This comprehensive treatment of the Nearings' food choices and methods of preparation serves as an excellent primer on earth-friendly, healthful eating. For Nearing fans, it's also laced with Helen's no-nonsense advice and opinion. I read it (as i do any new cookbook) like a novel and stayed interested from cover to cover.
