Elaborar una propuesta de acci???n para la reducci???n de factores maternos relacionados con el bajo peso al nacer. METODOLOGIA. Se realiz??? estudio prospectivo descriptivo para caracterizar el comportamiento del bajo peso al nacer y su relaci???n con causas maternas predisponentes, de 123 reci???n nacidos bajo peso que se compararon con igual n???mero de neonatos con peso igual o superior a 2500 gramos, durante los a???os 2001 al 2007, procedentes del ???rea de salud de Milan???s de Matanzas. Entre las variables estudiadas se se???ala edad materna, valoraci???n nutricional y ganancia de peso, antecedentes obst???tricos, enfermedad materna asociada y h???bito de fumar.
