Pearl/Janey is a sassy spitfire with walls ten feet tall built around her and she is using all of her feistiness to keep Lee at bay. Her history is heartbreaking yet the reason she has the strength to do the job she does. Lee is the perfect man for her as he finds her amusing and loves all her smart mouthed ways. As their story unfolds, what he goes through and experiences made me love him all the harder.
This deals with some highly sensitive issues but is written in a way that never feels invasive or overblown. It�s fast paced with a good dose of action. While things move a little slower for this couple than other couples this author has written, it does not lack the chemistry or steam. This could be read as a standalone but would be enjoyed more if book one is read first.
