I had such a good time with this book, getting to know Alec's daughter Belinda as a person, not just a voice on the phone or a mention by her father. Daisy is headed to Scotland by train, and is engulfed by the family of a former schoolmate. When the head of that family is found dead in his compartment, Daisy and stowaway Belinda become material witnesses in a murder case that falls to Alec, since he is already headed up there to collect young Belinda. Daisy is such a nice person and a lot of fun, she's someone I would actually like to know (unlike Sherlock Holmes, for instance).
