The book arrived from the seller in less than good condition (it was described as good). I read part of the book and then threw it away. The book was boring and the condition was so that the book was not worth keeping.

Birds of a Feather
Readers should save this book until they're read the first four about Maisie Dobbs in sequence. You will be fascinated by the cases she investigates, the historical elements (in England in the period after WWI) that serve as a backdrop, and by Maisie's personal growth.

Jacqueline Winspear's Maise Dobbs
A mystery reading friend has been telling me to read this series and since I have not been terribly interested in period novels, had not taken her up on the suggestion.
In April, I was visiting her in MN and in one of our favorite mystery book shops. There was a hardback at a great price so I picked it up and have been hooked since that time. Birds of a Feather was another great read and the historical info on post WWI in England makes this series all the more interesting. Maisie is a woman ahead of her time and Ms. Winspear's character devlopment as well as Maise's method for solving the crime is unique.
Please give this series a try!
