Schluchter's essays originated as introductions to three volumes of the complete edition of Max Weber's writings, letters and lectures and are presented here again, in a slightly revised version. Read jointly, they provide an introduction to Weber's mature sociology. German description: Die beiden Hauptwerke von Max Webers verstehender Soziologie, "Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft" in der Fassung von 1919/20 und die auf vier Bande geplanten "Gesammelten Aufsatze zur Religionssoziologie" erganzen einander.
