Being born in 1964, I am light years away from the era of President & Mrs Lincoln. All my young years in school & learning about American History, have far paled incomparison to this well researched project. Author Ruth Painter Randall's portrayal of our most beloved President Lincoln & his wife, is beautifully told with quiet dignity. Flowing like a well beloved poem of antiquity. My very young mind only recollected a very poor, unsubstantiated opinion, I am ashamed to say of Mrs. Abraham Lincoln. But I have been educated in the proper fashion, with the proper truth, and "the proper person" to tell it. I only wish I could have met both Mrs. Randall & Mrs Lincoln. I'm not now, nor have I ever been a political person, but this project goes much deeper than just skin, than politics. I see Mary Todd Lincoln's heart & true self. I'd never heard of this story or the author before this, but I highly recommend it to anyone & everyone.
