Engulfed in the darkness of Irian Jaya's Snow Mountains live the Yali-naked cannibals who call themselves "lords of the earth". Yet in terror and bondage they serve women-hating, child-despising gods. Missionary Stan Dale dared to enter their domain. "Lords of the Earth" was an excellent depiction of real-life missions. As an experienced missionary, Don Richardson tells the story of Stanley Dale with grace and poignancy. Despite Dale's shortcomings, Richardson paints a picture of a man with a love for God and a passion to see lives changed for the better. Reading this book, it is exciting to see how God used the apparent weaknesses and failures in the life of a man to bring needed change to a whole people group. Though not quite as thrilling as "Peace Child" (as Mr. Richardson's eyewitness testimony on the mission field) I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in tribal peoples or missions.
