By now we all know one must live in the now to live an awakened life. We've all had that presented and sometimes preached to us. I love Eckhart Tolle, but I often felt as if I were learning 'now' from someone who had all the advance degrees imaginable on the subject, rivaled a Zen master and lived in nothing other than utter peace. Which all may be accurate, but since I'm not even vaguely close to any of those states, I needed a little more realistic guidance. Enter Mr Jacobson. The funny thing is, he probably equals Mr Tolle in understanding and experience, the difference with Leonard Jacobson's writings is in his approach. He has assisted my understanding, furthered my knowledge both more and less simply, about this sometimes very elusive 'task' of retraining, returning to, getting to and remaining in the now. Somehow I felt Mr Jacobson was a little more down to earth, therefore relevant to a regular unenlightened person like me, than what generally I have experienced from an entire crew of 'now' instructors. Reading this book is refreshing, because it's minus any implied but never stated, intimidating ideas I might not ever be one who can manage living in the now, get to membership in some exclusive club.
