HIGH-WIRE HEARTBREAK
by Anna Schmidt
This is a dual-timeline, with Chloe, a writer from the present time and her great grandmother Lucinda, a trapeze artist from 1939. Chloe is is writing a book, with the setting at Ca'd'Zan, which is translated into THE HOUSE OF JOHN, named for John Ringling, owner of the Ringling Brother's Circus, in Sarasota, Florida. She knows her great grandmother was a circus employee of John Ringling, but there was no further information about her.
Lucinda and Nardo are a wonderful pair of trapeze artists, who are to perform for John's birthday gala.
The author weaves the two stories together, seamlessly. John's house has been preserved in the present time as a museum, it sounds fabulous. It is a 36,000 square foot home, plenty of room for relaxing and entertaining, and also plenty of secret hiding spots.
