I am writing my second book of history of the area of the Colorado river. This book will be titled " Women of the Colorado River". The book would not be complete without a chapter on Georgie Clark "The Woman of the River". That is how she is known, as she was probably more familiar with the Colorado River than any other being alive. This book tells about her life running the rapids of rivers around the world and how she was the most instrumental in making river-running in the Grand Canyon a most popular sport. Clark was very a much a character in her own right and lived her long life to the fullest. Her book is well written and the pace does not slow down. I have interviewed people that ran the river with her and they tell that she was every bit as exciting as the story that she writes Great book great read.
