Very Good. 0712665374. Card covers show very light shelf wear, stain inside front edge, Pages somewhat yellowed as is common in British publications. Previous owner's name inside front card cover.; A bright, solid book, no creasing, a section of B&W photos in middle of book; Trade PB; 152 X 34 X 234 millimeters; 384 pages; This is a reprint of the 1965 book first issued by Macmillan. It is an intensive study of the disastrous British campaign in which there were nearly half a million Allied and Turkish injured and dead. The Australian and New Zealand forces were heavily committed in this action and took heavy losses. Churchill, as First Lord of the Admiralty, was heavily involved in the planning of the action and when it was all over, he was censured for even attempting this bold attack. He fell out of favour and did not recover until Chamberlain's fall in the early days of WWII.
