Before I read this book, I thought of forgiveness as a gift to be given to someone after they have proven they deserved it. I held grudges toward those I felt were unworthy of my forgiveness, which prevented me from being happy. This book literally changed my life, because it helped me to see forgiveness as a gift for myself. The case studies were just as influential in helping me, as the actionable suggestions. I may never forget some of the grievances against me, but I can forgive them and live a happier life.
