Loved it...
This is a book that will keep you guessing. Just when you think you know exactly what is going on with Paris, his cousin, Useless, Three Hearts, Useless' mom, and Fearless Jones, Walter Mosely tips you over on your ear. The characters are very human, full of issues and emotions, that keep them in situations of their own making.
The story is back in the day in the 1950's where race was definitely a barrier when dealing with the rest of the world. Reading about Paris and his friend, Fearless Jones as they deal with the black world and the white world is a hoot.
Although the story line is serious - Useless is missing and probably in real trouble - there are a lot of humorous situations that will have you laughing out loud. When you get to the end, you will feel as if you have run a race!
I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a well written story with characters you will learn to care about whether you agree with their stance on life and how it should be lived.
