"To Make for Fun" is accurate
This vintage book was written in 1938 by a popular doll maker who wanted to share her craft. Her dolls from that era are quite collectible and have many fans even today.
In a folksy, friendly style, she takes us step by step in constructing dolls from her patterns, included in the book. I made the larger old fashioned doll and she turned out darling. A few of the sewing terms used are dated, but easy to figure out. A couple of the instructional steps were a little unclear (and I am an experienced sewer) but again, fairly easy to figure out. I enjoyed the experience and resulting doll so well that I plan on making several more.
I can recommend this book.
