Sewing at the Top!
If you ever wanted to know how couture clothes are ordered and constructed, this is THE book to get.
On the good side, the book clearly explains the techniques along with wonderful drawings. Many of the couture techniques are not found in other sewing books. The photos and related discussion are great for inspiration.
On the bad side, most of the techniques require extensive handsewing. Using these techniques will produce exceptional garments, but not by this weekend!
Overall, I heartily recommend this book if you want to try creating your own couture garments. If you are looking for a general sewing book (and one that uses a sewing machine for most sewing), this is not the book for you.

Great reference for sewers (med level and up)
Really interesting overall if you're interested in looking at how couture sews garments (without having to rip any expensive garments apart!) Get this if you are prepare to do a lot of hand sewing. Some very useful tips that could be applied to any home sewer. However, don't expect big secrets of how to sew certain special designs. This is purely how to sew couture. Very well written and informative!
