Following the opening introduction, two verses of the duet are written in concert F with a modulation to concert G for the third and final verse. The range is not excessive, and as an example, the duet written for C and Bb instruments in treble clef (ex. oboe and clarinet) has a range that extends up to concert C above the staff (for the C part) and concert G above the staff (for the Bb part). The melody is exchanged through both parts. The technical demands are intended for accomplished high school performers or above.
